It’s a holiday celebration! Downtown Owego will come alive on Friday evening, December 4, 2009 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Owego will sparkle with holiday lighting and great festivities. Christmas lights reflecting on the river, historic buildings lit with candles, Children’s choirs, dancers, carolers, strolling musicians, juggler, a visit with Santa, food, Christmas specials and all the sights and sounds of Christmas.  NEW THIS YEAR!  RIVER FLAMES!  These are ten little bonfires along the Riverwalk on the river -- a great show!

The festivities begin at 5:30 pm in downtown Owego with the lighting of the Village at 6 pm capped off by an exciting riverside fireworks show at 8 pm! The shops will be filled to the brim with gift merchandise – Come down for dinner with the family, enjoy shopping, plenty of warm free refreshments, cookies, prizes and goodies to get in the mood for the holidays.

The Tioga County Historical Museum's O’Tannenbaum will be open for all to see over 100 decorated Christmas trees and wreaths.
