It’s a celebration! All are invited to come to downtown Owego on Friday evening, December 5, 2008 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Owego will sparkle with new 2008 holiday lighting and great festivities. Christmas lights reflecting on the river, historic buildings lit with candles, Children’s choirs, dancers, Charles Dickens carolers, strolling musicians, a visit with Santa, food, Christmas specials and all the sights and sounds of Christmas. Join the Historic Owego Marketplace and Visions Federal Credit Union as they celebrate the 2nd Annual “Lights on the River Festival.”

The festivities begin at 6 pm in downtown Owego with the lighting of the Village capped off by an exciting riverside fireworks show at 8 pm! The shops are filled to the brim with gift merchandise – come and have dinner with the family, enjoy shopping, plenty of warm free refreshments, cookies, prizes and goodies to get you in the mood for the holidays. Don’t forget to stop in the Tioga County Historical Museum for O’Tannenbaum and check out over 100 decorated Christmas trees and wreaths.
